Ms. Violet Theresa Jackson Mannings, age 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 10, 2022 at her daughter’s residence in Brooklet, GA. She was under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice.
Ms. Violet Theresa Jackson Mannings, a native of Kingston, Jamaica, worked and lived in Miami, Florida for over 30 years. After the passing of her late husband, Lloyd and upon her retirement, she returned to Jamaica and then relocated to Brooklet, Georgia in 2017.
Violet became a registered nurse in England and later returned to school to earn her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida.
She attended Holy Family Catholic Church in North Miami, Florida and St. Matthew Catholic Church in Statesboro, Georgia.
She leaves her memories to cherish with her 2 daughters, Dr. Dawn Mannings (Dr. Kendall Griffith, spouse) of Brooklet, GA., and Dr. Carol Mannings ( Andre Higgins, spouse) of Jacksonville, FL.; surviving sisters, Edna Jones of Kingston, Jamaica and Ruby Messam of Boston, MA.; surviving brother, Joseph Jackson (Oona Jackson, spouse) of Yardley, PA.; 6 grandchildren, Kira, Nyla, Maya, Kendall Jr., Saige, and Rylee and a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to name.
Funeral arrangements are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Bailey Memorial Gardens 7801 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL 33068.
