Mr. Scott New Obituary

Mr. Scott M. New, age 74, departed this earth on February 24, 2024 and headed to his heavenly home for a glorious meeting with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; and a wonderful reunion with loved ones who have gone before him! He passed away at home under the loving care of his wife and son, along with weekly visits from Ogeechee Hospice nurses and Chaplin Nick. Before hospice, Enhabit Home Health nurses made regular visits to our home. Thank all of you so much for your loving care and support, both emotional and spiritual!

Special thank you to his son, Duane Davis Jr. for coming to our home every morning and in between times and his daughters for coming from Kansas to spend some time to help care for Scott! Thank you also to Coach Sparks for being there for support and help. You all have truly gained your angel wings!

Scott was born in Berkeley, CA on August 24, 1949. While our hearts are broken as we are left behind, we are so at peace in our hearts knowing that we will see him and be with him again! And also, the fact that he is in a peaceful place and no longer in pain! He can now play the drums in heaven’s band as he has done here on earth since the age of 13.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Sandra (Sandy) Sparks New, Statesboro, GA; daughters, Karen (Larry) Larsen, Peabody, KS and Kim (Darin) Sample, Alta Vista, KS; son, Duane (Kathleen) Davis Jr., Statesboro, GA; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy (Dean) Cullup, Albany, CA; brother-in-law, Coach Mike Sparks; nieces, nephews and also cousins in Canada.

I love you forever and always Scott! Save a place for me, my love!

A private service will be held by the family.
