Mrs. Virginia Wiggins, age 83, of Portal, Ga., passed peacefully away on Thursday morning at 9:15am at Azalea Health and Rehabilitation of Metter, Ga., after an extended illness. She was a Bulloch County native and a member of the Johnson Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Portal, Ga., where she served as Church Mother. She retired from Georgia Southern College( now Georgia Southern University) in food service. She is survived by her loving daughters Ms. Benita Ann Palmer and Ms. Audrey Wiggins(Willie) Lawrence both of Portal, Ga.; her loving sons Mr. Cloys Tyrone (Audra) Wiggins of Tallahassee, Fl., and Mr. Oscar Darcell (Kimberly) Wiggins of Portal, Ga.; her loving sisters Mrs. Juanita Smith, Mrs. Marie (John) Hawes, and Ms. Ida Mae Marshall all of Atlanta, Ga., Min. Marvine (Bishop Lee) Warren of Colonial, N.J., and Ms. Peggy Marshall of Woodbridge, N.J.; her loving brothers Mr. Ellis (Marjorie) Marshall, Sr., of Plainfield N.J., Mr. George (Cathy) Marshall of Piscataway, N.J., Mr. John Willie (Millie) Marshall of College Park, Ga., and Mr. Howard Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing will be held Tuesday March 7, 2017 from 12-8pm at the Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel. Home Going Celebration for Mrs. Virginia Wiggins will be held Wednesday March 8, 2017 at 2pm at the Johnson Grove Baptist Church, 149 Oak Grove Church Road, Portal, Ga., with the Bishop Lee Warren, Officiating. Interment will be held in Church Cemetery. Mrs. Virginia Wiggins will lie-in-state from 1pm until funeral hour. There will be no viewing after eulogy. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
