Mrs. Vernita Jones, 67, of Tallahasse Fl., entered eternal rest on Monday April 1st after an extended illness at the Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahasse. She was a Bulloch County native, but resided in Tallahasse for over 30 years. Mrs. Jones was a 1964 graduate of William James High School, and spent two years studying Sociology at Albany State College. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E Church and retired Instructor from Lively Vocational School in Tallahassee. She is survived by her daughters Ms. Olivia A. Jones and Ms. Deidra L. Jones both of Tallahassee, Fl.; her mother Mrs. Sarah Christian of Statesboro, Ga.; her sisters Mrs. Verdora Merritt of Statesboro, Ga.; and Ms. Vera Christian of Atlanta, Ga.; her brother Mr. John Smith of Fayetteville, NC.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing will be Friday April 5, 2013 from 12-8pm at Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel. Funeral services for Mrs. Vernita Jones will be Saturday April 6, 2013 at 11am at Brannen Chapel United Methodist Church, 20 Elm Street, Statesboro, Ga., with Rev. Thomas Norman III, Pastor/Eulogist and Rev. Julius Abraham, Presiding. Interment will be held at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Register Ga. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
