Ms. Shirley Bacon, age 64, passed on Monday May 30th at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, New York after a brief illness. She was a Bryan county native, but resided in New York for many years. She was employed as a caseworker with the Center of Urban Community Service of New York. She is survived by her mother Mrs. Bernice Bacon of Pembroke, Ga.; two sisters Mrs. Peggie(Izell) Roberts of Pembroke, Ga., and Mrs. Audrey Byrd of Syracuse, N.Y.; four brothers Mr. Micheal(Susan) Bacon and Mr. Calvin Bacon both of Pembroke, Ga., Mr. Bobby(Fannie) Bacon of Warrenton, N.C., and Mr. Lonnie(Barbara) Bacon of Melbourne, Fla.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday June 11, 2011 at noon at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, Groveland Ga., with Rev. Dr. L. Perry McNeal Pastor, Rev. Dr. Francy's Johnson, eulogist. Interment will be held in Church Cemetery. Visitations will be Friday June 10, 2011 from 6-8pm at Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Pembroke Chapel.
