Mrs. Sarah Smith Christian, age 97, passed peacefully away on Monday August 11th at Browns Healthcare Facility in Statesboro, Ga. She was a Bulloch County native and was a devoted member of Brannen Chapel United Methodist Church of Statesboro, Ga., and served in several capacities She worked for the Bulloch County Health Department and held various other jobs during her career. She is survived by her loving daughters Mrs. Verdora C. Merritt of Statesboro, Ga., and Ms. Vera Christian of Atlanta, Ga.; a loving son Mr. John Smith(Roeina) of Fayetville, N.C.; her loving sister-in-laws Mrs. Alma Riggs(Marvin) and Ms. Sarah Coleman both of Statesboro, Ga.; and a host of grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. Family visitations will be Saturday August 16th from 6-8pm in the chapel of Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel. Home Going Celebration will be Sunday August 17th at 2:30pm at Brannen Chapel United Methodist Church, Elm Street, Statesboro, Ga., with Ms. Chaquela Jones(Great Granddaughter), Eulogist, and Rev. Thomas Norman III, Pastor. Interment will be held in St. Mary's Church Cemetery, Brooklet, Ga. Mrs. Sarah Christian will lie-in-state from 1:30pm until funeral hour, there will be no viewing after eulogy. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
