Mr. Sammie Lee Hills, age 76, of Lanier, Ga., passed peacefully away on Tuesday October 23rd at St. Joseph Hospital in Savannah, Ga. He was a Bryan County native and retired as a truck driver with Shuman Construction Company of Savannah, Ga. He was a member of the Cypress Bay Baptist Church of Lanier, Ga., where he served faithfully as an Usher. He is survived by two daughters Mrs. Rosaland(Gessum) Johnson and Mrs. Priscilla(Micheal) Smith both of Lanier, Ga.; two sons Mr. Samuel Hills and Mr. Curtis Hills both of Lanier Ga.; eight sisters Mrs. Carrie(Marvin) Mobley and Ms. Almeta Sanders both of Fort Stewart, Ga., Ms. Dorothy Whitaker of St. Marys, Ga., Ms. Rosie Thomas of Jacksonville, Fla., Dr. Vera Booth of Woodbine, Ga., Ms. Deloris Hills and Mrs. Verneliei(Marvin) Rawls both of Kingsland, Ga., Mrs. Cassandra(Kirk) Logan of Corpus Christi, Texas; eight brothers Bishop Louis(Racheal) Hills and Mr. Luther(Eloise) Hills both of Lanier, Ga., Mr. Charles Hills and Calvin(Ervina) Hills both of Kingsland, Ga., Mr. James(Pearl) Hills of Darien, Ga., Mr. Alvin(Lauren) Hills of Atlanta, Ga., Mr. Rufus Hills of New York and Thomas Hills of New Jersey; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Sammie L. Hills will be Wednesday October 31, 2012 at 1pm at Cypress Bay Baptist Church, Lanier Ga., with the Rev. Arthur Kelly, eulogist. Interment will be held in Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Sammie Hills will lie-in-state from noon until funeral hour. Family visitation will be held Tuesday October 30, 2012 from 6-7pm at Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Pembroke Chapel. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Pembroke Chapel are in charge of services.
