Deacon Roosevelt Jones, Jr., age 45, of Portal Ga., passed away Sunday evening September 18th at his residence. He was a native of Hollywood, Florida, but resided in Bulloch County for many years. He was a graduate of Portal High School of Portal Ga. He was employed with his father with Flash Taxi Cab Service of Statesboro, Ga. He was a faithful member of the Portal Church of God of Portal Ga., where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He is survived by his loving wife Mrs. Marcia Jones of Portal, Ga.; one son Mr. Dontavious Jones of Statesboro, Ga.; his parents Rev. and Sis. Roosevelt Jones, Sr. of Portal, Ga.; one sister Mrs. Ruthie Mae Brown of Twin City, Ga.; two brothers Mr. Henry(Betty) Brown of Lithonia, Ga., and Mr. Timothy Lee(Antay) Jones of Portal, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday September 24, 2011 at noon at Portal Church of God, 306 Jones Street, Portal, Ga., with Rev. Alexander Smith, presiding and words of comfort by Bro. Henry Brown. Interment will be held in Hodges Cemetery, Portal, Ga. Viewing will be held Friday September 23, 2011 from 2-7pm at Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel
