Rev. John Willie Roberts, age 86, passed away Sunday morning September 25th at the Brown's Health & Rehabilitation Center in Statesboro, Ga. He was a Screven County native, but resided in Bulloch County for many years. He was the former pastor of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of Millen, Ga., until his health failed. He was a self-employed truck driver. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Olivia Corker Roberts. He is survived by a loving daughter Mrs. Evelyn L. Roberts-Jaudon(Mitchell) of Sylvania, Ga.; his loving sons Mr. Kelvin (Dana) Roberts of Union, N.J., Mr. Jeffrey Roberts of Elizabeth, N.J., and Mr. Gregory Roberts of Rahway, N.J.; his loving sisters Mrs. Majorie Chavers of Dover, N.J., and Mrs. Diane Johnson of Jersey City, N.J.; a loving brother Mr. Rufus James Roberts of Newark, N.J.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Family and friends visitations will be Friday September 30, 2016 from 7-8pm in the chapel of Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel. Home Going Celebration for Rev. John Willie Roberts will be Saturday October 1, 2016 at 12pm at the Friendship Baptist Church, 1115 Old Louisville Road, Millen, Ga., with the Rev. Eric Cooper, Officiating/Pastor. Interment will be held in Church Cemetery. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
