Obituary

Rev. Dr. Lorenzo Perry McNeal, passed away Friday March 16th, he is a native of Evans County, Daisy, Georgia. He received his early education in the public schools of Evans County. He attended Savannah State College, Johnson C. Seminary and he received his Doctorate of Ministry from Union Theological Seminary. He has several certificates of merit and completion from the University of Georgia and Armstrong State College. He was the Pastor of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church for Forty-one years and the Historic Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church for Forty-two years. He served as Moderator of the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Association for Twenty-on years and Vice-Moderator of the Tattnall Missionary Baptist Association for Thirty-three years. He is survived by his mother Bernice Covington; two sons J. Vernard(Lisa) Flowers and James S.(Valeria) Flowers, Sr.; two sisters Wanda(Leon) Thornton and Tammy(Donald) Thomas; four brothers Calvin(Eddie Mae) Riley, Alexander(Hazel) McNeal, Lavon McNeal, and Tony McNeal; aunts Pastor Deloris(Joseph) Young, Jennie Ruth McNeal, and Luella McNeal; uncles Cleveland Brewton, Archie(Agnes) McNeal, Tommie McNeal; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services Saturday March 24, 2012 at 10am at Historic Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, Claxton, Ga., with the Dr. Donald Snead, eulogist. Interment will be in Church Cemetery. Family visitations will be Friday March 23, 2012 from 7-9pm at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, Groveland, Ga.
