Obituary

Lonnie Stowbridge Obituary Lonnie Paul Stowbridge, the son of the late Shelly James Stowbridge and Gertrude Riggs Stowbridge was born in Bulloch County, Georgia on February 20, 1939. He answered the masters call and passed into peaceful rest on April 25, 2025 at the Highlands Hospital in Rochester, New York. The Bulloch County native received his formal education in the Bulloch County public school system. He was reared in a Christian home and accepted Christ at an early age attending the Banks Creek Baptist Church. Lonnie maintained regular church attendance and united with Rehovia Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board until his health declined. Lonnie, just like his brothers, had a niche for auto mechanics. In his early years he began employment with the Western Auto in Statesboro, Georgia. He was a hard worker and yearned to improve his financial status. He re-located to New York City where he began his career with the Eden Cab Company as a Mechanic. He later re-located to Chester Pennsylvania where he gained employment with Hygrade Manufacturing in the Maintenance Department until his retirement. Lonnie united with his life partner Pauline Littles Stowbridge and the couple made beautiful memories together. They enjoyed traveling, bowling, fishing, and sports events. The couple maintained regular visitation with the family until they relocated back to Georgia. Pauline passed away on January 31, 2002. In July of 2024 Lonnie relocated to Rochester, New York spending his final days cultivating loving memories with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Throughout his life Lonnie has maintained membership with the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge. Upon his return to Statesboro he joined the brotherhood of the William James Health Lodge 1346. Lonnie was a fun-loving person who enjoyed brotherly love and support of his fraternal brothers and sisters. Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Shelly and Gertrude Stowbridge, his life partner, Pauline Stowbridge, his brothers, James Stowbridge and John Henry Stowbridge, a sister Hannah Stowbridge Williams, and a Great-Grandson, Jameik Foster. He leaves to cherish many fond and loving memories his children: Paul Edward Stowbridge and Yolanda Gail Jones both of Rochester New York, a brother, Amos Stowbridge (Mary Ann) of Statesboro, Georgia, six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
