Mrs. Mattie Speight, age 89, passed away peacefully on Monday November 14th at her daughter's residence in Stone Mountain, Ga. She was a Bulloch County native, but resided in Hinesville, Ga., for many years. She retired as a nurse from Georgia Retardation Center of Atlanta, Ga. She was a member of the Old Friendship Baptist Church of Stilson, Ga. She is survived by her loving daughters Mrs. Betty Jones of Hinesville, Ga., Mrs. Dianne (Clinton) Page of Brooklet, Ga., and Ms. Darlene Speight of Stone Mountain, Ga.; her loving sons Mr. Harold Speight, Mr. Calvin (Elinda) Speight, Mr. Albert Speight, and Mr. David Speight all of Hinesville, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Family and friends visitations will be held Monday November 21, 2016 from 7-8pm in the chapel of Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel. Home Going Celebration for Mrs. Mattie Speight will be held Tuesday November 22, 2016 at 12pm at the First Calvary Baptist Church, 124 Rebecca Street, Hinesville, Ga., with the Rev. Dr. Sinclair Thorne, Officiating/Pastor. Interment will be held in Cones Cemetery, Stilson, Ga. Mrs. Mattie Speight will lie-in-state from 11am until funeral hour. There will be no viewing after eulogy. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
