Mrs. Marion People, age 68, of Statesboro, GA, peacefully transitioned on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at East Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.

She was a native of Newark, NJ, but resided in Statesboro, GA, since 2007. She was a member of the City of David Worship Assembly of Statesboro, GA.

She is survived by her husband, Edward People, of Statesboro, GA; three children: Tanika People of Newark, NJ, Demetrius Peoples of Trenton, NJ, and Khadijah People of Statesboro, GA; sisters, Jackie (Willie) Mallett of Elizabeth, NJ, Barbara Berry of Patterson, NJ, Ursula Buckmin of Statesboro, GA, Ellen Haynes, Carol Harrison and Janete Harrison all of Newark, NJ; brothers, Jameil Harrison and Bobby Harrison both of Newark, NJ, and a host of other relatives and friends.

In keeping with the family’s wishes, services honoring the life of Marion People will be private. The family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support.
