Mrs. Mamie Lou Smith, age 88, passed peacefully away on Wednesday evening April 23rd at her residence under the professional care of Ogeechee Area Hospice, after an extended illness. She was a Bulloch County native. She was a member of Ada Bell Church of God in Register, Ga., where she served as church mother and sung in the church choir.
She is preceded in death by her husband Otha Smith Sr., they have been married since 1942.
She is survived by her loving children Ms. Geneva Smith, Mr. Roy L. Smith(Judy), and Mr. Otha L. Smith Jr. all of Asbury Park, N.J., Mr. Clinton Smith, Mrs. Lela Faye Burns(Woodrow), Mr. Earl Smith(Latrese), Mrs. Annette Dekle, Mrs. Darlene Johnson(Ulysses), and Mr. Randy Smith(Judy) all of Statesboro, Ga., and Mr. Lamar Smith(Mildred) of Portal, Ga.; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Family visitations will be Monday April 28th from 7-8pm in the chapel of Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel.
Home Going Celebration will be Tuesday April April 29th at 1pm in the chapel Snella's Place, Hwy. 301 North, Allen Circle, Statesboro, Ga., with the Bishop Larry Jones, Presiding and the Rev. Ronnie Harden, Eulogist. Interment will be held in Bulloch Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 80 East, Statesboro, Ga.
