Mr. John Henry Holmes, age 82, of Lanier, Ga., passed peacefully Tuesday morning October 8th at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Ga., after an extended illness. He was a Screven County native having resided in Bryan County for many years. He was a member of Athens First Christ Holiness Church in Lanier, Ga., until his health failed. He retired from Shuman Construction Company of Savannah, Ga. He is survived by his loving daughters Ms. Shelia Key of Lanier, Ga., Mrs. Faye Stewart Ward(Keith) and Mrs. Mary Fleming(Blake) both of Savannah, Ga., and Mrs. Jackie Lonon Wilson(Randy) of Stafford, Virginia; a loving son Mr. Timothy Holmes of Savannah, Ga.; a loving sister Mrs. Grace James of Pembroke, Ga.; a loving brother Mr. Clarence Holmes Jr.(Louisania) of Sylvania, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing will be held Saturday October 12th from 5:30-8pm in the chapel of Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Pembroke Chapel. Funeral services will be Sunday October 13th at 11am at Boyds Temple New Order Greater Faith Minister Church, Ellabell, Ga., with Elder Marion Steward, Officiating and the Bishop C.C. Singleton, Pastor. Interment will be held in Mill Creek Cemetery, Ellabell, Ga. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Pembroke Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
