Mr. Joe Colbert, age 85, passed away peacefully Sunday April 17th at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Facility after an extended illness. He was a native of Treutlen County, but resided in Bulloch County. He resided in Landover, Maryland for over 50 years before moving back to Bulloch County. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War. He retired from the United States Department of Agriculture in Riverdale, Maryland. He is preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Georgia Colbert and son Robert Colbert Sr. He is survived by his loving daughters Patrica Colbert Taylor of Lanham, MD., and Montrese Diggs(Kevin) of Woodbridge, VA.; his loving sons Albert Lee Colbert of Arlington, VA., and Carl Colbert of Lanham, MD.; his loving sisters Mrs. Nellie (James) Lonon, Mrs. Mary Lois (Dunbar) Ward, and Mrs. Lou Ellen (O'neal) Young all of Statesboro, Ga.; his loving brothers Mr. Lonzie Lee of Rochester, N.Y., and Mr. Val (Elaine) Colbert of Philadelphia, PA.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing for Mr. Joe Colbert will be Saturday April 23, 2016 from 10-12pm followed by Celebration of Life Services at 12pm in the chapel of Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, 238 West Main Street, Statesboro, Ga., with Minister Patrease Hawkins, Officiating. Interment will be by cremation. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
