Mr. Jimmy Burdette, age 58, passed away on Friday morning February 20th at East Georgia Regional Medical Center after a short illness. He was a native of Nashville, Tenn., having resided in Arkansas for many years before moving to Statesboro. He attended New Covenant Church of Statesboro, Ga. He loved to referee basketball and softball games throughout Bulloch County and he loved karaoke. He was a member of the Southern Eagle Baseball and Softball Officials Association, and the Southern Eagle Basketball Officials Association. He is survived by his loving mother Mrs. Gladys Burdette Johnson of Colp, Ill.; his loving sisters Ms. Carolyn Burdette of Carbondale, Ill., Mrs. Angela Chambers of Herrin, Ill., and Ms. La'dreama Burdette of Marion, Ill.; a very dear friend Ms. Lorena Grant of Statesboro, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Jimmy Burdette requested for his services to be cremation that was held on February 23, 2015.
