Obituary

Mr. Jim Smith, age 71, of Lanier, Ga., passed peacefully away on Tuesday May 24th at his residence under the care of Hospice Savannah. He was a Bryan County native and attended the Athens First Holiness Church of Lanier, Ga. He retired from the Georgia Port Authority of Savannah, Ga. He is survived by his loving daughters Mrs. Cynthia (Lawrence) Lowe, and Ms. Tacarra Smith both of Pembroke, Ga., Ms. Andrea Polite and Mrs. Charlotte (David) Strobert both of Savannah, Ga., and Ms. Shonda Polite of Yokosuka, Kanagawa, Japan; his loving sons Mr. Corey (Iris) Polite of Pooler, Ga., Mr. Jeremy Smith and Mr. Greg (Kanyata) Smith both of Pembroke, Ga.; his loving mother Mrs. Mozella Smith of Pembroke, Ga.; his loving sisters Mrs. Mary Ann Boatwright of Wrens, Ga., and Mrs. Gladys Holmes of Sylvania, Ga.; his loving brothers Mr. Lonnie Smith and Mr. Joseph Smith both of Pembroke, Ga., Mr. Willie James Smith of Savannah, Ga., and Mr. Joe Smith of Daisy, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing for Mr. Jim Smith will be held Friday June 3, 2016 from 6-8pm in the chapel of Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Pembroke Chapel. Home Going Celebration for Mr. Jim Smith will be held Saturday June 4, 2016 at 12pm at the Athens First Holiness Church, Lanier, Ga., with the Rev. Earl Herman, Presiding and the Elder Marion Stewart, Eulogist/Pastor. Interment will be held in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Ellabell, Ga. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Pembroke Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
