Mr. Jesse James Sawyer, age 69, of Savannah, Ga., passed peacefully away Friday September 6th at Hospice of Savannah after an extended illness. He was an Effingham County native, but resided in Chatham County for many years. He is the son of the late Mr. Jesse and Sallie Mae Tremble Sawyer. He is a 1964 graduate of Springfield High School. He was a member of Goodwill Baptist Church of Savannah, Ga. He retired from Chatham Steel Cooperation of Savannah, Ga. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Mrs. Sandra Sawyer of Savannah, Ga.; his loving daughter Mrs. Francene Sawyer Carter(Eric) of Savannah, Ga.; his loving son Mr. James Anthony Sawyer(Ebony) of Savannah, Ga.; his loving sisters Mrs. Ronie Akins of Garden City, Ga., Mrs. Miffie Johnson of Savannah, Ga., and Mrs. Corine Sawyer Luke(James) of Augusta, Ga.; his loving brother Mr. Freddie Lee Sawyer of Rincon, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing will be Friday September 13th from 1-4:30pm at Sylvania Funeral Home of Savannah, Inc. 102 Owens Industrial Drive, Savannah, Ga. Family visitations will be Friday September 13th from 6-8pm at Goodwill Baptist Church, 816 Bowden Street, Savannah, Ga. Funeral services for Mr. Jesse Sawyer will be Saturday September 14th at 11am at Jonesville Baptist Church, 5201 Montgomery Street, Savannah, Ga. Interment will be held in Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, Ga. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Pembroke Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
