Obituary

Mr. James Wilbert Thompson, age 83, passed peacefully away on Wednesday January 20th , 2016 at the Glenvue Health & Rehabilitation Nursing Home in Glennville, Ga., under the care of Spanish Oaks Hospice. He was a Bulloch County native, but resided in Philadelphia for over 60 years before moving back to Bulloch County for 5 years. He was a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church of Statesboro, Ga., and a self-employed cement finisher. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was in the Philadelphia Travelers Motorcycle Club in Philadelphia. He is preceded in death by his siblings Ernest Thompson, Willie Brooks Thompson, John Wesley Thompson, Herman Thompson, Lola Murray, and Henry Junior Thompson; a daughter Juanita Thompson; a grandson Robert Thompson He is survived by his loving son the Rev. Bobby Thompson of Statesboro, Ga.; a loving sister Mrs. Almarita(Lloyd Henry) Brown of Hagin, Ga.; his loving brothers Mr. George(Arabell) Thompson and Mr. Emmauel(Margret) Thompson both of Nevils, Ga., Mr. Rudolph(Beaulah) Thompson of Uticha, N.Y., and Mr. Earlhue(Joyce) Thompson of Saint Petersburg, F.L.; his loving sister-in-laws Mrs. Sarah Thompson of St. Petersburg, F.L., and Mrs. Frances Thompson of Statesboro, Ga.; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends. Family and friends visitation will be held Saturday January 23, 2016 from 7-8pm in the chapel of Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel. Home Going Celebration for Mr. James Thompson will be held Sunday January 24, 2016 at 1:30pm at the Piney Grove Baptist Church, 1579 Bragan Road, Statesboro, Ga., with the Rev. Lavon Johnson, Presiding and the Rev. Morris Reddick, Eulogist/Pastor. Interment will be held in Church Cemetery. Mr. James Wilbert Thompson will lie-in-state from 12:30pm until funeral hour. There will be no viewing after eulogy. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
