Deacon Ike McNeely, age 82, of Brooklet, Ga., passed peacefully away at Heritage Inn Nursing Home of Statesboro, Ga., under the care of Pruitt Health Hospice. He was a Bulloch County native and a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church of Brooklet, Ga., where he served on the Deacon Board. He retired after 50 years with the Bulloch County Board of Education and served as a firefighter and chief for the Brooklet Fire Department. He also served on the Brooklet City Council Board. He enjoyed farming, life and loved people. He is survived by his loving daughters Ms. Dorothy Hamilton of Brooklet, Ga., and Mrs. Marie Stephenson(Paul) of Arlington, VA.; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing will be held Thursday November 6th from 1-9pm at Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel. Home Going Celebration for Deacon Ike McNeely will be Friday November 7th at 12pm at Little Bethel Baptist Church, Brooklet, Ga., with the Rev. Ronnie S. Tremble, Presiding, and the Pastor John T. McPhatter, Eulogist. Interment will be held in Bulloch Memorial Gardens, Statesboro, Ga. Deacon Ike McNeely will lie-in-state from 11am until funeral hour. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
