Gartrell Jones Obituary Mr. Gartell Jones Jr., age 62, passed on Wednesday morning, July 15, 2020, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. He was a native of Hollywood, Fl., but resided in Portal, Ga., for many years. He was a member of Portal Church of God and was employed with Roscoe Laircey Heating and Air of Statesboro, Ga. Mr. Jones is survived by his children Mr. Christopher (Selena) Lockhart of Covington, Ga., Ms. Melissa Coleman of Statesboro, Ga., Mr. Gartrell Jones, III of Macon, Ga.; his mother Ms. Ethel Jones of Metter, Ga.; sisters Ms. Bernice Gilbert, Mrs. Shirley (William) Allen of Portal, Ga., Ms. Virginia Williams, Ms. Deloise Jones both of Metter, Ga., Ms. Patricia Goodman of Portal, Ga., Mrs. Janice (Mike) Gresham of Covington, Ga.; bothers Mr. Jeffery (Shirley) Jones of Statesboro, Ga., Mr. Donald Jones of Milledgeville, Ga., Mr. Charles Jones of Twin City, Ga., and a host of other relatives and friends. A walk-through viewing will be on Sunday, July 19,2020, from 3-6 pm at Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro chapel. Graveside service will be held privately for the family on Monday, July 20, 2020, at the Lee-Hodges Cemetery in Portal, Ga. *Due to COVID-19 we ask that all guests please wear a mask if they plan to attend the viewing or graveside service.
