Floyd Thompson, 76, of Warner Robins, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on June 29, 2026 after a life devoted to faith, family, and service.
Born on December 29, 1949, in Statesboro, Georgia, Floyd was the son of the late Ernest and Frances Thompson. He attended Bulloch County schools and later attended Savannah State College.
Floyd was a lifelong member of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Statesboro, Georgia. His faith, roots, and connection to his church community remained an important part of his life.
Floyd dedicated much of his career to the field of Mental Health, where he worked to help children, juveniles, and adults find their way through life. In later years, and up until his most recent hospitalization, he accepted a position in fine jewelry sales and management. In this role, he enjoyed developing lasting relationships with his customers and with his work family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ernest and Frances Thompson; his sister, Francine Hampton of Wichita Falls, Texas; and his grandson, Syncere King Neal of Port Wentworth, Georgia.
Floyd leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 39 years, Pat Thompson of Warner Robins, Georgia; his brother, Jimmy Thompson (Gayle) of Chicago, Illinois; his brother-in-law, Jerry Hampton of Wichita Falls, Texas; and his sister, Patricia Richardson (Franklin) of Statesboro, Georgia.
He also leaves behind his loving children: Tamarshea Dickerson of Garden City, Georgia, Nina Thompson (Ahmad Mitchell) of Tampa, Florida, and Paige Sims (Greg) of Savannah, Georgia.
Floyd’s legacy continues through his three grandchildren, Za’Niya Thompson, Ty’Lyria Graham, and Terreona Graham; and one great-granddaughter, Lundynn Jones.
Floyd loved his family.
He will also be lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family members, church family, customers, coworkers, and dear friends whose lives were touched by his presence, kindness, love, and legacy.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 5:30pm.-7:30pm. at Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home Statesboro Chapel, 238 West Main Street, GA 30458.
Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 12:00pm at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1579 Bragan Rd, Statesboro, GA 30458. Pastor Morris Reddick/Eulogist. Floyd Thompson will lie in state from 11:00am until noon.
Interment will be held at Piney Grove cemetery.
