Deacon Ernest Lovett, Jr., age 50 of Portal, Ga., passed peacefully on Friday October 14, 2016 at Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, Ga., after an extended illness. He was a Bulloch County native and was a member of the Scarboro Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Ministry. He was a 1984 graduate of Portal High School. He was owner and operator of Up Front Inc. He is survived his wife Mrs. Carolyn Lovett of Portal, Ga.; his children LaKeelar (Phillip) Lee of Fairburn, Ga., Ernest Lovett III of Atlanta, Ga., Adam Lovett of Metter, Ga., Tiesha Lovett of Savannah, Ga., and Rachel Lovett of Portal, Ga.; a loving father Mr. Ernest Lovett Sr., of Portal, Ga.; his loving sisters Mrs. Dianne (Carl) Flowers of Accokeek, MD., Mrs. Renee (Irving) Murray of Portal, Ga., Mrs. Lisa (Chris) Denson , Mrs. Veronica (Ulysses) Evans, and Mrs. Juliette Burke all of Atlanta, Ga.; his loving brothers Mr. James Lovett of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., Mr. Frank (Mandy) Lovett of Germany, Mr. Alvin (Dionne) Lovett of Jesup, Ga., and Mr. Clint (Shecara) Lovett of Portal, Ga., and Mr. Jeff Murray of Millen, Ga.; his loving aunts Mrs. Sue Harris (Michael) Green of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Vicki Williams of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.; a loving uncle Mr. Clifford (Ola) Lovett, of Portal, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing for Deacon Ernest Lovett Jr., will be held Friday October 21, 2016 from 1-8pm at the Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel. Home Going Celebration for Deacon Ernest Lovett, Jr., will be held Saturday October 22, 2016 at 1:30pm at Connection Church, 1342 Cawana Road, Statesboro, Ga., with the Rev. Larry Broxton, Presiding, the Rev. Grant Turner, Eulogist, and the Rev. Brandon Williams, Pastor. Interment will be held in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hwy. 80 East, Statesboro, Ga. Deacon Ernest Lovett Jr., will lie-in-state from 12pm until funeral hour. There will be no viewing after eulogy. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
