Mr. Edward Lee Smith, age 62, passed away Thursday June 20th at Candler Hospital in Savannah, Ga. He was a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native, but resided in Chatham County for many years. He is survived by his step-father Mr. L.T. Perkins of Pembroke, Ga.; his sisters Carrie Huff(Ray) of Hinesville, Ga., and Doris Hodge(Robert) of Statesboro, Ga.; his brothers Wayne Smith of Pembroke, Ga., and Terry Perkins(Michelle) of Mary Esther, Fl.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Edward Lee Smith will be Saturday June 29th at 1pm at Piney Grove Baptist Church, Denmark, with Minister Willie Mae Williams officiating and the Rev. Morris Reddick, Pastor. Interment will be held in Church Cemetery. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
