Deacon Wilmart Martin, Sr., age 84, passed peacefully away on Saturday morning December 20th at Heritage Inn Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was a Bulloch County native. He was a faithful member of New Corinth Baptist Church of Nevils, where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board. He was the owner and operator of Martin's Garage for over 30 years of business. He enjoyed working on cars and reading about the Lord and studying God's word. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Mrs. Inez Smith Martin of Statesboro, Ga.; his loving children Roosevelt Martin(Marolyn), Sherry Thompson(Frederick) both of Statesboro, Ga., Stanley Martin(Paulette) of Alexandria, VA., Wilmart Martin Jr. of Oglethorpe, Ga., and Linda Golden of Sylvania, Ga.; fourteen grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing for Deacon Wilmart Martin, Sr. will be Monday December 22nd from 1-7pm at Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel. Home Going Celebration for Deacon Wilmart Martin, Sr. will be Tuesday December 23rd at 11am at Miller Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Hwy. 24 East, Statesboro, Ga., with the Rev. Daniel Foster, Officiating, and the Rev. Harry James Tremble, Sr., Pastor. Interment will be held in Church Cemetery. Deacon Wilmart Martin, Sr. will lie-in-state from 10am until funeral hour. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
