Deacon George Johnson, age 93, of Ellabell, Ga., passed into eternal rest on Monday evening September 28th at 7:47pm. He was a Bryan County native and retired from the Bryan County Board of Education as a Custodian at Bryan County High School. He was a member of the Beautiful Zion Baptist Church of Pembroke, Ga., where he served as a Deacon. He was Chairman of the Deacon Board until his health failed. He is survived by his loving children Mrs. Rose Smith(Joe), Ms. Linda Cabellero, Ms. Brenda Hobbs, Mr. John Johnson(Tawanda), all of Ellabell, Ga., Mrs. Yolanda Okosagah, Mrs. Carlotta Dukes(Nathaniel), and Ms. Tamaqua F. Butler all of Winder, Ga., and Mr. Rudolph Johnson(Patty) of Houston, TX.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Family and friends visitations will be Friday October 2, 2015 from 7-8pm in the chapel of Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Pembroke Chapel. Home Going Celebration for Deacon George Johnson will be Saturday October 3, 2015 at 1pm at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Claxton, Ga., with the Rev. Michael Dickerson, Presiding/Pastor, and the Rev. Arthur Kelley, Eulogist. Interment will be held in Beautiful Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Pembroke, Ga. Deacon George Johnson will lie-in-state from 12pm until funeral hour. There will be no viewing after eulogy. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Pembroke Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
