Mr. David "Buster" Burns, age 91, passed away Thursday March 8th at Carl Vinson Veteran Administration in Dublin, Ga., after a short illness. He was a Bulloch County native and a retired carpenter. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a faithful member of the Summer Hill Baptist Church where he served as the Sunday School superintendent and executive of the Sunday School of B.T.U. He is preceded in death by his wife Agnes Burns and son Harry Burns. He is survived by a daughter Mrs. Mae(the Rev. Benjamin) Alston of Statesboro, Ga., two sons Mr. Woodrow(Faye) Burns of Statesboro, Ga., and Mr. James(Shirley) Burns of Warner Robins; two sisters Mrs. Bessie Grimes and Ms. Eva Burns both of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother Mr. Jesse(Erma) Burns of Kileen, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service Saturday March 10, 2012 at 2:30pm at Summer Hill Baptist Church, Clito Road, Statesboro, Ga., with the Rev. Craig R. Tremble, eulogist and the Rev. Raphele Smith, pastor. Interment will be in Miller Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Highway 24, Statesboro, Ga.
