Mrs. Bertha Porter, age 70, of Pembroke, Georgia passed into eternal rest on Sunday evening March 24th at her residence under the excellent care of Hospice Savannah. She was a native of Wilmington, N.C., but resided in Bryan County for many years. She was employed with the Bryan County School system until her health failed. She was a member of the Beautiful Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Pembroke, Ga. She is survived by her husband Mr. Richard Porter of Pembroke, Ga.; her son Mr. Gerald(Gail) Sellars of Wilmington, N.C.; her brother Mr. Leo(Jennie) Shepherd of Wilmington, N.C.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Family visitations will be Wednesday March 27th from 7-8pm in the chapel of Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Pembroke Chapel. Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Porter will be Thursday March 28th at 11am at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Claxton Ga., with Rev. Craig R. Tremble, Presiding, the Rev. Terrell Ball, Eulogist and Bishop A.C. Pierce, Pastor. Interment will be held in Church Cemetery. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Pembroke Chapel are in charge of services.
