Mrs. Bernice Seward Bacon, age 93 of Pembroke, Ga., passed peacefully on Thursday morning February 2nd at her residence after an extended illness under the care of Gentivia Hospice. She was a Bryan County native and a member of the Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church of Pembroke, Ga. She is survived by her loving daughters Mrs. Peggy (Isaiah) Roberts of Pembroke, Ga., and Mrs. Audrey Byrd of Syracuse, N.Y.; her loving sons Mr. Lonnie (Barbara) Bacon of Melbourne, Fl., Mr. Robert (Fanny) Bacon of Warrenton, N.C., Mr. Calvin Bacon and Mr. Mikell (Susie) Bacon both of Pembroke, Ga.; her loving sisters Mrs. Rosetta Seawood, and Mrs. Louise Harris both of Leesburg, Fl.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Family and friends visitations will be held Friday February 10, 2017 from 6-8pm at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 185 South Poplar Street, Pembroke, Ga. Home Going Celebration for Mrs. Bernice Bacon will be held Saturday February 11, 2017 at 12pm at the Jerusalem Baptist Church, 224 Jerusalem Church Road, Groveland Ga., with the Rev. Dr. Francys Johnson, Presiding, the Bishop K.E. McNeal, Eulogist, and the Rev. Victor Brewton, Pastor. Interment will be held in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Bernice Bacon will lie-in-state from 11am until the funeral hour. There will be no viewing after eulogy. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Pembroke Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
