Mr. Andrew Lewis, age 87, of Statesboro, Ga., passed away on Thursday February 23rd at Coliseum Health System in Macon, Ga., under the care of Pruitt Health Hospice. He was a Screven County native and a member of Charlestown United Methodist Church of Sylvania, Ga., where he served as a trustee. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean Conflict. He resided in New York for many years where he retired as a Barber before moving to Statesboro, Ga. He enjoyed outdoor gardening and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Mrs. Gloria Lewis of Statesboro, Ga.; a loving daughter Ms. Phylli Lewis of Sylvania, Ga.; a loving son Mr. Mark Lewis of Augusta, Ga.; his loving sisters Mrs. Marian Brown, Ms. Lula Lewis and Mrs. Margery Jenkins all of Sylvania, Ga.; his loving brothers Mr. Roosevelt Lewis of Sylvania, Ga., and Mr. Casper (Shirley) Lewis of Miami, Fl.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Family and friends visitations will be held Monday February 27, 2017 from 7-8pm in the chapel of Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel. Home Going Celebration for Mr. Andrew Lewis will be held Tuesday February 28, 2017 at 11am at the Charlestown United Methodist Church, 2832 Effingham Highway, Sylvania, Ga., with Bishop Moses Lewis, Presiding and the Rev. William Reaves, Eulogist/Pastor. Interment will be held in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 80 East, Statesboro, Ga., with full military honors. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
