Mrs. Albertha McLemore Savage, 78. , made her heavenly transition on Saturday, March 5, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Savage was born on September 8, 1937 in Savannah, Ga., to the late James and Evelina McLemore. At an early age she was baptized in Friendship Baptist Church, serving in the choir and later being ordained as a deaconess. She was educated in the public schools in Chatham County, graduating from Woodsville in 1956. She them attended Savannah State College. On March 14, 1957 she was joined in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Roosevelt Savage. She is survived by two loving daughters: Rogenia Savage and Sharon(Reggie) Watson, a son: Stephen(Gloria) Savage, all of Savannah, Ga.; a daughter-in-law: Wera Savage of Los Angeles, CA. Four children she raised as her own: Ashley, Alexis, Courtney, and Canty Savage all of Savannah, Ga. Grandchildren: Deon and Savannah Savage of Los Angeles, CA., Stephen and Stephanie Savage, Khalilah, Pink and Silviller Watson all of Savannah, Ga.; Greatgrands: Rayona, Ashley,II and Chrisitian Savage, Ashlynn and Peyton Savage-Orr, Canty Seabrooks, Aniyla Robinson, Caiden Johnson and Markeith Cummings,Jr.Three brothers: Lt. General Walter(Dora) Gaskin, (Retired), of San Francisco, CA., Johnny Gaskin of Savannah, Ga., and Fredrick(Ebony) Wilson of New Jersey. Two sisters: Lillie Mae Howard of Savannah, Ga., and Shirley McLemore of Redlands, CA. One sister-in-law: Betty Lang; two aunts: Flora Mae Jenkins and Jarldine Lanier, two special nieces: Linda P. McLemore and Sylvia Williams; two special cousins: Evelyn Wilson and Akin Royall, a host of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing for Mrs. Albertha Savage will be held Saturday March 12, 2016 from 2-3pm at the Friendship Baptist Church, 2151 Weldon Street, Savannah, Ga. Home Going Celebration for Mrs. Albertha Savage will be held Saturday March 12, 2016 at 3pm at Friendship Baptist Church, 2151 Weldon Street, Savannah, Ga., with Prophetess Barbara Brown, officiating. Interment will be held on Monday March 14, 2016 at 1pm in the Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort S.C. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Pembroke Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
