Mr. Alton Martin, age 93 of Hinesville, Ga., passed peacefully Wednesday May 23rd at his residence after an extended illness under the care of Georgia Hospice Care. He retired from International Greetings USA of Midway, Ga. and Frazier & Jones Solvay of New York.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Inez Martin of Hinesville, Ga.; his loving children Ms. Willene Martin of Tennessee, Mrs. Betty Ann (Eugene) Roriex of Pooler, Ga., Ms. Erma J. Martin of Syracuse, N.Y., Mr. Terry (Tamala) Martin and Mr. John (Gloria) Martin both of Atlanta, Ga., and Mr. Elton (Gloria) Martin of Syracuse, N.Y.; his loving sisters Mrs. Louise Lovett, Mrs. Clara Roberts, and Mrs. Arlie Brown all of Hinesville, Ga.; his loving brothers Mr. John D.(Wilma) Martin of Aurora, Colorado, and Mr. Vernell (Beverly) Martin of Rancho Cordova, California; 36 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren and the Shaw Family; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Family and friends visitation will be held Thursday May 31, 2018 from 6-8pm at Pleasant Grove A.M.E Church, 1450 West Oglethorpe Hwy., Hinesville, Ga.
Home Going Celebration for Mr. Alton Martin will be held Friday June 1, 2018 at 11am at the Bethel A.M.E Church, 233 N. Gause St., Hinesville, Ga., with Elder Henry Frasier, Sr., Presiding, Elder Darryl Lovett, Eulogist, and Rev. Richie Williams, Pastor. Interment will be held in the Taylor Creek Cemetery, Hinesville, Ga.
