Rev. Roosevelt Jones, Sr., age 80, passed away Thursday October 5th at Memorial Health University Medical Center of Savannah, Ga. He was a 1958 graduate of the William James High School and a graduate of Dade County Technical Institute with a degree in Business Adminstration. He was the owner & operator of Jones “Flash” Taxi Cab Service of Statesboro, Ga. He was the Pastor of the Portal Church of God of Portal, Ga.

He is survived by his loving wife Mrs. Reatha Mae Jones of Portal, Ga.; a loving daughter Mrs. Ruthie Mae Brown of Twin City, Ga.; his loving sons Mr. Henry (Betty) Brown of Lithonia, Ga., and Mr. Timothy Lee Jones of Portal, Ga.; a loving daughter Antay of Statesboro, Ga.; his loving sisters Mrs. Ernestine (Walter) Smith of Portal, Ga., Mrs. Shelby Jean Colbert of Twin City, Ga., Mrs. Darlene Jones, and Ms. Cynthia Jones both of Statesboro, Ga.; a loving brother the Rev. Lonnie (Betty) Jones, Sr. of Portal, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held Thursday October 12, 2017 from 3-8pm at the Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel.

Home Going Celebration for the Rev. Roosevelt Jones, Sr., will be held Friday October 13, 2017 at 1pm at the Willow Hill Heritage and Renaissance Center, 4235 Willow Hill Road, Portal Ga., with Bishop Larry Jones, Presiding and the Rev. Tony Harden, Eulogist. Interment will be held in the Hodges-Lee Cemetery, Portal, Ga.

Rev. Roosevelt Jones, Sr., will lie-in-state from 11am until funeral hour. There will be no viewing after eulogy.

Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
